A Vintage Golf Party to Remember: Celebrating Creativity & Community
I’m beyond excited to share an incredible adventure I embarked on last year! Two years ago, I joined Lydia Menzies’ Supper Club to dive deeper into tablescaping, creativity, and having a beautiful creative outlet. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
Through the Supper Club, I’ve connected with so many like-minded friends who share a love for beautiful things—both old and new—and the art of styling them perfectly. The inspiration and camaraderie within this community are truly unmatched.
And now, Lydia has released her stunning new book, which showcases over 60 breathtakingly styled parties—including three I had the honor of participating in, two of which were published! This book is pure magic. The creativity, the styling, the photography—every detail is impeccable. If you love decorating, celebrating, and styling, this book will be your new favorite obsession!
Honoring My Late Father-in-Law with a Vintage Golf Party
One of the parties that I hosted for the book, and the one that meant the most to me, was a Vintage Golf Party in honor of my late father-in-law, Tom. He was an avid golfer with a deep passion for golf memorabilia—from antique clubs and trophies to ticket stubs from legendary tournaments he attended. I wanted to create a party that truly reflected his love for the sport, and I knew I needed some talented friends to bring my vision to life.
With their expertise and a collection of Tom’s treasured pieces, we crafted a scene that was both sentimental and beautifully styled.

The Creative Dream Team
✨ Kris Ramsey of Therapy on Main brought stunning vintage treasures to complement Tom’s collection.
✨ Laura Brock from The House of Hanbury loaned me cherished golf pieces that perfectly accented the décor.
✨ Carrie from Elizabeth Delphine Embroidery created a custom-embroidered golf flag featuring artwork we originally designed for Tom’s 65th Masters birthday party. Because honestly, doesn’t everyone need a personalized golf flag?
✨ Leslie Flanigan of Lemon Daisy Design hand-painted elegant cocktail napkins that added the perfect finishing touch to the dinner table.
✨ Lauren Jacobs, The Cheerful Baker, crafted the most incredible golf ball cookies, beautifully displayed in a vintage trophy with Tom’s monogram. She also made adorable cupcakes topped with edible “grass” and a white chocolate golf ball on a tee—delicious and stunning!
✨ Kristie LaLonde of The Happy Hostess helped style the tables, selecting the perfect tablecloths and accent pieces. Her eye for design is unmatched!
✨ June St. George created gorgeous green trellis pillows for the rocking chairs. I loved them so much that I bought them for my home!
✨ Thomas Arde of TomTom And Company styled the bar cart and various accents throughout the setting, making everything look effortlessly chic.
✨ Stacy from Southern Discourse prepared the most mouthwatering dishes—she’s a must-follow if you love hosting!

The Details That Made It Special
Every piece of my golf pottery collection played a role in this event. The large beverage tub—a must-have for any gathering—was filled with drinks, but I could just as easily picture it holding golf towels, magazines, or even extra golf balls.
The hand-painted salad plates in my golf pattern paired beautifully with rattan chargers and crisp white plates. We sprinkled my golf ball vases throughout the tablescape, each holding delicate floral arrangements. Even my small beverage tub found a special place next to the golf bag, holding vintage headcovers.

A Tribute to Lydia & Her Beautiful Book
Lastly, I have to take a moment to say—Lydia Menzies is a true gem. She is one of the kindest, most generous, and most creative individuals I’ve ever met. Though this book is filled with all of our contributions, it simply wouldn’t exist without her vision and dedication. Lydia, this book will forever be a treasure to me.
And a special thank you to Adam Kuehl, the brilliant photographer behind the book and the photos you see here. Each image is a masterpiece, capturing not just the beauty of the styling but the soul of the celebrations. Adam, your work is truly art!
This experience has been one of the most rewarding and inspiring journeys, and I’m so grateful to have been part of it. If you love entertaining and styling, Lydia’s book is an absolute must-have—it will inspire you again and again!
